Welcome to seventh-grade Language Arts and Creative Writing. My name is Mrs. Lawson, and this is my first year as a Language Arts teacher. I am so excited to be at Pennington! Prior to accepting this position, I worked as a writer and editor for newspapers and academic journals in Northern Virginia. I also taught Business Communications at Marymount University. While my children were in elementary school, I was an assistant in the STEM Lab at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in English from West Virginia University. I also have a master's in History from George Mason University.

I love to read and write, and it brings me great pleasure to share that love with my students. When I am not reading or writing, I enjoy spending time with my family.
